Our Mission

Bright Ideas Preschool provides a safe, nurturing learning environment
for young children. We strive to create an atmosphere which not only
fosters independence and creative expression, but also recognizes the
unique talents of every child. Our cheerful, fun-filled setting provides
each child with a playground for learning and an enriching start to his
or her education.
History
Located in Middletown, Rhode Island, Bright Ideas Preschool is an
independent early childhood center for children ages six weeks to six
years old. It is privately owned by Maureen (“Meme”) Greichen Kielbasa
since 1991. Since this time, the program and facilities have been
continually expanded and improved to better serve the needs of our
children.
Bright Ideas carries a rich history in progressive early childhood
education. The school enrolls approximately 100 students from Newport
County and southern Rhode Island. Over the years we have savored the
pleasure of watching many of our children arrive in diapers and leave us
to enter first grade. It is a bittersweet pleasure of which we never
tire.
Licensing & Membership
Bright Ideas Preschool is licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and
Families as well as by the Rhode Island Department of Education.
We are members of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the
Aquidneck Collaborative for Education, the American Speech & Hearing Association, and the
Newport County Chamber of Commerce.
